Sling Steady fits onto the sling you already own. It takes a few minutes and no tools. Before you start, make sure the rifle is unloaded, the action is open and it is pointed in a safe direction.

Step by step
- Detach the rear of your sling. Unclip the rear sling clevis or quick-disconnect (QD) from the buttstock.
- Orient the bag. Turn the bag so its drawstrings face the buttstock.
- Feed the sling through. Use the included loop to pull your rifle sling through the bag.
- Reattach the sling. Clip the clevis or QD back onto the buttstock.
- Tie it in. Thread the drawstrings through the clevis or QD and tie them securely, so the bag stays at the back of the rifle where the stock will rest on it.
- Set the firmness (optional). Use the hook-and-loop ports to add or remove SteadyFill until the bag feels right in your hand.
Check the fit
Carry the rifle on the sling for a minute. At 9.5 oz (Pro) or 6.3 to 6.8 oz (Sport), you will barely notice the extra weight. The bag should sit near the rear swivel and ride quietly. Then get into position and make sure the toe of the stock lands on the bag.
No QD stud, or a sling that does not fit?
- No rear QD stud: add the All Rifle Adapter (left or right hand).
- Want to keep your sling unchanged: the Y-Clip Sling Adapter connects the bag to your own sling.
- Need a sling for an AR-platform rifle: the Y-Clip Full Length Sling.
